DAVID E. AHLVERS
David is co-founder of Family Solutions Law Group. He is an experienced family law attorney prepared to work with you to help resolve your family law issue. David focuses his practice entirely on family formations and family transitions, which allows him to utilize his expertise to help achieve your goals and interests. He is equipped with the skills necessary to represent you throughout the life of your case – from the initial meeting to settlement or to trial and an appeal, if necessary.
David began his career as a family law attorney clerking for District Court judge, Regina M. Chu, when she served on the Hennepin County Family Court bench. Clerking for Judge Chu gives David an important and unique perspective on the practice of family law. Through this clerkship David learned how judges approach family law issues, especially when they are litigated.
David continued his career as a family law attorney with Lindquist & Vennum, P.L.L.P. There David worked on all types of cases, including prenuptial agreements, marriage dissolutions, relationship dissolutions, paternity actions, and post-marriage dissolution matters involving complex, high-value estates. David also refined his litigation skills, including the handling of many complex motions and trials, achieving favorable results for his clients.
David is also experienced in the appellate process.
David combines his distinct past experiences as a law clerk and in a large-firm family law practice group to best represent his clients in all types of family law matters.
Philosophy:
“The practice of family law is not one-dimensional. It requires creative problem solving and a 360 degree approach to the client, the family system, and each individual issue. Ultimately, families are not designed to resolve their issues in Court. So, I work with clients to find creative ways to bring their family issue to final resolution without engaging in the polarizing forum of litigation. However, some litigants need their disputes resolved by a Judge. In those situations, I advocate for my client’s interests, without losing sight of the future dynamics of the family and application of the law.”
